Fair Teaching Policy

Please be advised that all new students, as well as parents or guardians of new students, are required to sign the Fair Teaching Policy prior to commencing music lessons.
At our organization, our primary objective is to provide individuals with the skills necessary to read, play, and compose music. We have encountered situations where teachers arrive for lessons only to discover that their students are absent for various reasons.
To ensure fairness for all parties involved, we have established an agreement that requires students to provide at least 24 hours' notice to their teacher if they need to cancel a music lesson appointment. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in the student being liable for the cost of the lesson.
Students are expected to attend their lessons each week, unless alternative arrangements have been made with their teacher. While students are free to cancel lessons as needed, we kindly request that they notify us in advance. Please note that we do offer lessons during holidays, but if a student wishes to cancel during this time, they must inform us in advance.
While we understand that emergencies and unexpected illnesses can arise, we believe that it is only fair for teachers to be compensated for their time if a student cancels a lesson for any other reason, particularly forgetting.
